Fractional Business Development for Startups

Experienced BD support, without a full-time hire

You have a business to build, customers to serve, and more opportunities than hours in the day. If you are still responsible for every prospect list, introduction, and follow-up, business development can become inconsistent. I help startup founders put a practical process in place and keep it moving.

Work directly with me

I’m Marijo McIntosh, an independent business development consultant based in Milwaukee and working with clients across North America. I bring more than 15 years of experience to startups across industries. You work directly with me on both the plan and the day-to-day activity.

What I can take off your plate

The engagement is scoped around your business, your buyers, and your stage of growth. Support can include researching target accounts, identifying decision-makers, developing outreach messages, managing follow-up, preparing for prospect conversations, and keeping next steps organized in your CRM. I help you see which opportunities need attention and where the process is getting stuck.

Experience behind the work

In a previous engagement, I helped grow a company’s customer base from 2 to more than 500 separate customers over two years, with hands-on responsibility for closing customer deals. The company remains anonymous. That experience informs my approach; the scope and results of each engagement depend on the business, its offer, and its market.

How an engagement starts

We begin with a conversation about your offer, target buyers, current pipeline, and available time. I then recommend a scope: a focused assessment, ongoing fractional support, or help building the process your team will run. Before work begins, we agree on responsibilities, deliverables, and the measures that matter to you.

Is this the right fit?

This service is for founders who have a clear offer but need help consistently finding and developing opportunities. I work across industries and tailor the approach to how your customers buy. If you need an initial plan rather than ongoing execution, the assessment and roadmap may be a better starting point.
